Welcome to my portfolio!
The purpose of this website is to introduce you to a sampling of the kind of work that I have done as a student of Landscape Design.
European Religion History Tour
At the beginning of the fall semester I toured Europe with the Brigham Young University-Idaho Religion Department. During the tour we visited numerous church's and other religious sites, but I was also able to observe the local horticulture practices and landscape architecture, whose design techniques were incredible!
During our time overseas we visited Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, France and England. It was interesting to see the different cultures - how the people interacted and how they designed their buildings and green spaces accordingly.
The slide show below includes a few of my better scenic and landscape photos.

Summer 2008 Internship
I spent this summer in Chicago as a Maintenance Sales Intern with Mariani Landscape. Mariani Landscape is an elite Design/Build/Maintain firm with work focused on the North Shore of Chicago. I was attached to a Client Representative, and we headed up 'Team Lemburg' overseeing every aspect of the Landscape Maintenance work for 65 residential properties.
I also job shadowed several key members of the Design/Build team to experience the diverse areas of the corporation. These positions included: Project Director, Project Manager and Production Coordinator.
I enjoyed the type of work that Mariani Landscape has built a reputation for: exclusive properties, large budgets and clients with high expectations.
The slide show below previews the caliber of work that Mariani Landscape has established a reputation for delivering.

Summer 2007 Internship
During the summer of 2007 I completed a 17 week internship with Bob Jackson Landscapes in Baltimore, Maryland. Bob Jackson is a renowned Design/Build/Maintain firm in the greater Baltimore-Washington area. During my 5 week rotations I established my passion for quality workmanship while having first hand experience in each of the design, installation, and maintenance divisions.
My highlights included: surveying large jobs using a multi station transit, participating in the design process with two design teams, installing 22' Austrian pine trees, manager shadowing, designing for maintenance clients, and being involved in weekly crew training meetings.

Suzhou Design

The above design is the DynaSCAPE file of a project I completed in my Advanced Design class. The client wanted a relaxed experience in their yard, and my professor required several principles to be included, such as: a reflected scenery, borrowed scenery's, leaking through scenery's, etc. With the amount of plant material I used, this plan looks busy, but there was so much to accomplish in a small space that it was necessary.

Above I used DynaSCAPE Color for my presentation plan. The plan was simplified when the masses of planting came together, simplifying the overall appearance. It also helped to create an all around appealing design.
DynaSCAPE Color is a relatively new program and I have just recently started to use it. I wasn't sure if I liked the end product it produced, but after this design I was sold. I like DynaSCAPE Color because you can achieve a bright, clean appearance in your rendering that I couldn't have achieved with markers or pencils.
